The Venue: The Chapel Montville’s Rustic Charm

The Chapel Montville is a spectacular wedding venue on the Sunshine Coast, known for its stunning views and energetic connection to earth and animals. The chapel was the vision of its creator, Rounvenne Geijl, who dedicated it to animals in harmony with Saint Francis of the Franciscan orders. Saint Francis, the patron saint of ecology and animals, inspired the chapel’s design, ensuring it fit seamlessly with the environment. The stone structure, assembled over nine months using traditional hammer and chisel methods by skilled stonemasons, adds to its rustic charm and timeless elegance.

A Day of Creative Exploration

Ashlee & Aaron’s wedding day was partly cloudy, with the chance of showers lingering nearby. Fortunately, the weather held off, allowing us to fully explore the various locations and scenes nestled in nature that The Chapel Montville has to offer. We moved constantly from location to location on the property, taking advantage of every lighting and backdrop opportunity.

Using flash and other creative lighting methods, we captured a series of stunning photos that highlighted the natural beauty of the venue and the couple’s love for each other. The vibrant and outgoing friends Ashlee & Aaron chose as their bridal party added an extra layer of joy and energy to the day, making every moment a delight to photograph.

One of the most touching aspects of Ashlee & Aaron’s wedding was the special place the photos of their bridal party hold in their hearts. Sadly, a member of the bridal party lost his battle with cancer only 12 months after the wedding, making these photos and the memories they represent even more valuable. These images capture the joy and love shared on that day, preserving the spirit of their dear friend forever.
