Ben Connolly, The region’s most awarded Wedding Photographer – Sunshine Coast Daily
Sunshine Coast photographer Ben Connolly has recently become the most internationally awarded wedding photographer in the region after receiving 12 global awards, 3 state and 4 national awards over the past 14 months and
is regarded as one of the Sunshine Coast’s best photographers.
The Wurtulla based photographer received these awards in 2016 & 2017 from the world’s biggest and most prestigious photography industry competition – Wedding and Portrait Photography International – and throughout 2017 he has added more gongs to his growing list of accolades.
Mr Connolly said more than 12,000 attendees and 2700 entrants participated in the WPPI conference last year in Las Vegas.
“It’s a really prestigious conference and it’s an absolute honour for me to win these international awards and be recognised by my peers,” he said.
“Photography is my profession and I am really proud to be a part of and industry which is so dynamic.”
“It’s certainly changed a lot over the past few years, especially with new technology but nothing can replace a well-trained eye and creative flair.”
Mr Connolly has been operating on the Sunshine Coast since 2004 and photographs about weddings per year nationally and internationally.
“As word of mouth spreads I called upon to photograph weddings interstate as well as exotic locations like Bali, Fiji, Italy and New Zealand,” Ben said.
In October 2016 Ben was recognised by national camera company Ted’s Cameras Australia as one of their seven Ted’s Cameras Australia brand Ambassadors.
Ted’s Cameras Social and Digital Marketing Manager Andrew Edyvean said Ben was chosen to be a Ted’s Master because of this passion for the industry and his quality work.
“Prior to becoming a Ted’s Master, Ben ran a number of workshops at our Maroochydore-based store and the feedback was fantastic,” Mr Edyvean said.
“We believe the quality of his work is outstanding and he’s already written a number of informative blogs which we have shared on our social media sites.
“Just two of our seven Ted’s Masters are located in Queensland, so Ben is in elite company.”
“I know he is looking forward to embracing this role by facilitating our training workshops to teach and educate others on the skills and attributes required to take the perfect photo.”
Ben will also be travelling to Las Vegas in February 2018 to again showcase his talent on the world stage with multiple entries into the WPPI awards.
